Hi!! We are Bob & Melinda Hadden. We are the Broker/Owners of Century 21 In the Mountains. We have been apart of the Century 21 system since 1989. We were the first franchise office and are one of the longest operating real estate companies in the area. Melinda has been in the real estate profession for 21 years and Bob for 19. Melinda also has been working with foreclosures for over fifteen years and has experience handling these transactions. With her knowledge she can walk buyers through the process with ease.
We are working Brokers which means we assist clients and customers as well as managing the overall business.
Melinda’s family has been in this area for five generations. Our daughter and grandchildren make that seven generations. We love sharing stories and the history of the area with our customers and clients. Our family is a family of entrepreneurs. Melinda’s father was owner and operator of the Pink Pig BBQ restaurant in Cherry Log for over 40 years. With his passing in November 0f 2008, our daughter Samantha has taken over the day to day operations and it continues to remain in the family. You will have to try the Brunswick Stew and Garlic salad on your visit. You may even run into former President Jimmy Carter or one of the many other celebrities who are frequent diners. Melinda’s sister and brother in law own the local Ford dealership Ronnie Thompson Ford. Bob’s father was instrumental in the locating of the Gold Kist Poultry operation to Ellijay in 1970. Today it operates under the Pilgrim’s Pride brand and continues to be the counties largest employer.
All of our family prides itself on good customer service. We not only assist our clients in purchasing or selling homes and/or land, but we also stay with them through the entire closing process. We assure a smooth enjoyable transaction from beginning to end. Bob always says “if your going to spend this much money, you should have fun doing it.” We have backgrounds in the mortgage business, as well as classes in appraisal and the commercial side of the business. We believe that you never stop learning and make an effort everyday to assure we are knowledgeable about our market, inventory, and what is happening in our area.
We believe in giving back to our community. We have each served as President of the Gilmer County Rotary Club and have each served as District officers in Rotary. We have served on our Board of Realtors, the Gilmer County Planning Commission, and Melinda has just completed a year long tenure as President of the Chamber of Commerce and remains on the Board this next year. We are members of the Gilmer Arts and Heritage Association. We are proud to say that we are REALTORS and practice our code of ethics on a daily basis.
Our customers and clients tend to become our friends; we believe this is a relationship business. We look forward to serving your real estate needs whether it be buying or selling.
